  • * On March 2, Jagmohan Dalmiya was elected as President of BCCI(Board of Control for Cricket in India). Previously Dalmiya has been Vice President of BCCI between 2001 and 2004. Before this he has also been President of International Cricket Council (ICC) between 1997 and 2000.

  • * On February 28, China launched the much awaited Silk Road Infrastructure project worth 79.8 billion US dollars in the northwest province of Gansu. This will facilitate exchange of trade and tourism between China and central Asian Countries. It will be completed in six years and is part of China‚Äôs ambitious Silk Route plan.

  • * On March 02, Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal won the Argentina Tennis Open in Buenos Aires, Argentina defeating Juan Monaco of Argentina

  • * On March 02, Namibian President Hifikepunye Pohamba Won the Mo Ibrahim prize for achievement in African leadership for year 2014. This prize is given to recognise excellence in African leadership.
